Yes to Fresh: Refreshing a Visual Identity While Preserving Core Assets
What started as a self-initiated pro bono project at BHH quickly grew to involve departments beyond design. Mentos, an iconic brand, has maintained an unchanged logo since the 1960s and consistent packaging since the 1970s.
Rather than seeking a rebrand, Mentos wanted to make their assets stand out differently across the brand and social platforms. Given their iconic status, we focused on the distinctive shape of the Mento to achieve this goal. This shape influenced the entire visual language of the brand, creating grids, aligning type, becoming type, and housing content.
This project has now sparked a series of initiatives for the brand.
